2023 Spring Season - Important Information

Uniforms:
All players will receive a hat and jersey included in their registration fees. Major divisions and up will also receive pants included in their registration. You will have the option to buy socks, belts and pants directly from Mechanicsville Little League once your child is assigned to a team.
MLL is very happy to announce that we’ve modernized our approach to selling socks, belts and pants. We now have an online ordering form that allows you to make your purchase without having to get that information and payment to a team parent.
A few key items about this process:
Once you have received notification of the team assignment for your player, you can place an order as you’ll need to know the division and team of the player.
We have FIRM dates in which the store will be open so that we can submit the order to the uniform company and obtain items before the start of the season. The store will open Monday 2/20/2023 and close Friday 2/24/2023 at midnight.
Items purchased through the store will be distributed with team uniforms.
Ordering from MLL is not required, we do this as a service to try and help parents easily get what they need at a good price.
** Players in the following divisions receive a full uniform with registration, additional items ordered will be extra pieces for those players: Majors, Intermediate 50/70, Juniors, Challengers
All other divisions receive a shirt and hat.

Schedule:
Mechanicsville Little League is unable to accommodate the overwhelming number of schedule requests for “Event” time and dates but we try our best to maintain a consistent schedule for each team. Because of circumstances (i.e. Weather) the schedule is subject to change after being posted. Generally, the practice schedule is released within 1-2 weeks of the first practice date and the game schedule will follow shortly thereafter. Parents should anticipate their child to have 2 “Events” (Practice or Game) per week. Your coach may decide to schedule extra practices during the week/weekend and will notify you of such additions as necessary.

Fundraiser:
A $50 fundraiser fee is applied to ALL registrations with the exception of the Challenger Division.
Each year at MLL, the players/parents have an option to participate in an annual fundraiser. This year we will be taking orders from a brochure entitled “OTIS SPUNKMEYER”. Your participation in the fundraiser gives you the opportunity to earn back the $50 fundraiser fee you paid by selling these products.

Volunteers:
Mechanicsville Little League relies solely on our volunteers to ensure a smooth and successful season. In years past we required participation from our parents to help with things like concessions and bingo. We no longer have those requirements in place but we are in great need of volunteer support to help keep costs low and participant experience high. Volunteer opportunities include,

Eligibility:
Eligibility must be established by way of residency inside the boundaries of a Mechanicsville Little League, or the location of the school where the child attends is located inside the Mechanicsville Little League boundaries. Furthermore, the child's league age must fall within the age requirements for the particular program in which they are registered.

Financial Assistance:
T-Mobile Little League Call up Grant
Each year, we want to make sure kids in Mechanicsville have the opportunity to write the next chapter in the Little League® story, regardless of their situation. Thanks to the generous support of T-Mobile, financially challenged families in our community can apply for the T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant, which is focused on helping to cover registration fees associated with Mechanicsville Little League for the upcoming season! Little League and T-Mobile share the belief that every kid should have the chance to play ball.
The program offers a simple-to-use online application and is available to families in need with proof the child is currently receiving Medicaid benefits, SNAP or WIC, so long as funding is available. Please note, documents will need to include the child’s name and eligibility/issued dates (within the last 12 months or have a future expiration date) verifying their low-income status in order to complete the application. Physical cards for Medicaid, SNAP or WIC that do not provide current dates and the child’s name will not be accepted.
If for some reason your application for the ‘T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant’ is not approved, please email our league president. Your email should include your children’s name(s), what kind of assistance you are requesting, and a brief reason why you are making such a request. Financial assistance can range from partial to full scholarship. The league also has the ability to offer your family a payment plan.
