2024 Spring Season - Important Information

Fundraiser: 

A $50 fundraiser fee is applied to ALL registrations with the exception of the Challenger Division. 

Each year at MLL, the players/parents have an option to participate in an annual fundraiser. This year we will be taking orders from a brochure entitled “OTIS SPUNKMEYER”. Your participation in the fundraiser gives you the opportunity to earn back the $50 fundraiser fee you paid by selling these products.

Uniforms:

Baseball:

All players will receive a hat and jersey included in their registration fees. Major divisions and up will also receive pants, socks and a belt included in their registration. You will have the option to buy socks, belts and pants directly from Mechanicsville Little League once your child is assigned to a team.  (See Purchasing Uniform Items, below)

Softball:

All players will receive a jersey and softball socks included in their registration fees. Major divisions and up will also receive a belt, pants and an extra pair of socks included in their registration. You will have the option to buy belts and pants directly from Mechanicsville Little League once your child is assigned to a team.  (See Purchasing Uniform Items, below)

Purchasing Uniform Items: 

Once teams and colors are assigned, an online store will be available (for a limited time) to purchase uniform items such as pants, socks, and belts to match your team.  For divisions that provide full uniforms (Majors and older), this is only for EXTRA items.  You will receive a communication when the store is available.  Purchasing items from the online store is optional.

Schedule:

Mechanicsville Little League is unable to accommodate the overwhelming number of schedule requests for “Event” time and dates but we try our best to maintain a consistent schedule for each team. Because of circumstances (i.e. Weather) the schedule is subject to change after being posted. Generally, the practice schedule is released within 1-2 weeks of the first practice date and the game schedule will follow shortly thereafter. Parents should anticipate their child to have 2 “Events” (Practice or Game)  per week. Your coach may decide to schedule extra practices during the week/weekend and will notify you of such additions as necessary.

• Opening Day - 4/20/2024

Volunteers:

Mechanicsville Little League relies solely on our volunteers to ensure a smooth and successful season. In years past we required participation from our parents to help with things like concessions and bingo. We no longer have those requirements in place but we are in great need of volunteer support to help keep costs low and participant experience high. Volunteer opportunities include,

• Board Members

• Concession Workers 

• Bingo

Financial Assistance:

T-Mobile Little League Call up Grant

T-Mobile Little League® Call Up Grant Program - Little League

Each year, we want to make sure kids in Mechanicsville have the opportunity to write the next chapter in the Little League® story, regardless of their situation. Thanks to the generous support of T-Mobile, financially challenged families in our community can apply for the T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant, which is focused on helping to cover registration fees associated with Mechanicsville Little League for the upcoming season! Little League and T-Mobile share the belief that every kid should have the chance to play ball. 

The program offers a simple-to-use online application and is available to families in need with proof the child is currently receiving Medicaid benefits, SNAP or WIC, so long as funding is available. Please note, documents will need to include the child’s name and eligibility/issued dates (within the last 12 months or have a future expiration date) verifying their low-income status in order to complete the application. Physical cards for Medicaid, SNAP or WIC that do not provide current dates and the child’s name will not be accepted. 

If for some reason your application for the ‘T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant’ is not approved, please email our league president. Your email should include your children’s name(s), what kind of assistance you are requesting, and a brief reason why you are making such a request. Financial assistance can range from partial to full scholarship. The league also has the ability to offer your family a payment plan.
